CREP
The AISWCD has entered into an agreement with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide assistance to those Soil & Water Conservation Districts with a high workload. AISWCD, with information from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and the USDA Farm Services Agency (FSA) will assess the current CREP workload of the Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD). The AISWCD will submit to the Illinois EPA a list of SWCDs to fund, the funding levels recommended to cover the CREP assistance for the said period and the proposed time frame. The AISWCD will then enter into a subcontract with approved SWCDs to hire employees to assist with the administration of the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP).
