Director Training was taking place as the meeting was going on.

Sessions
Erin had previously mailed out a draft to committee members of times of sessions, etc.  She reported that Mike Hoffman would be glad to give a session on Legislative, including the Gift Ban Act.  IAAP would like to offer a session, possibly on Microsoft Publisher.  Rich Nichols did an ICCI session at the National meeting, and indicated he could do this at Summer Conference as well.  Other topics discussed included:  Watershed Urban Planning, Education Hands on Session, Photography, Retirement Options for Districts, Microsoft Excel, Core Courses, and Pier Led Discussion.  It was decided that the Education Committee, ISWCDEA, Dept. of Ag, all send in their priority topics to Erin in the next week.  The Turnover Task Force Committee will then meet to discuss options.  Erin would like to have a tentative agenda out on the web by April 1.

Expo
Discussion was held on whether to have the Expo open on Sunday with set-up possible on Saturday.  A motion was made by Terry Bogner, seconded by Tom Anderson, that the Expo open on Sunday with the following hours.  Motion carried.  Expo hours will be 1 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday; 8:00 am. – 5:00 p.m. on Monday; and 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Tuesday.

  1. Farm Family Banquet

Colleen Bogner will be giving the invocation.  All family members can go up to receive award this year, but pictures for publication will be taken at the reception before the banquet.

  1. Vesper Service

A motion was made by Terry Bogner, second by Darrell Roegge, to hire Katenna LeForge for the price of $500.00.  Motion carried. Katenna brings her own sound system and engineer to run it, so this would save expense on equipment rental.

Monday

  1. Annual Meeting

Ron Lynch has notified AISWCD that he will not be available to serve as the Parliamentarian for the Annual Meeting this year because of a conflict.  Steve Steirwalt suggested that the FFA State Office be contacted about a Parliamentarian.

Monday Evening
Monday night meal will be called a “Boxed Social,”

  1. Auction

Districts are encouraged to check in their auction items on Sunday this year, even though the auction is not until Monday.  Auction items will be kept secure until Monday auction.  Stacy Stremsterfer suggested there be a power point presentation set up on Monday, so everyone could see the auction items that way.  Everyone on the task force thought this would be a good idea.  Representative Jim Sacia has agreed to serve as an auctioneer for the auction.  Letters of invitation have also been sent to Olin Sims (NACD President), and Senator John Sullivan, but Erin has not heard back from them yet. There will be no formal decorations or “theme” for the auction.

Tuesday

  1. Barbeque

Terry Bogner made a motion, second by Jake Klein, that the Association spend up to $1,500 for a plasma television to be used as the drawing item at the end of the Tuesday Barbeque.  Motion carried.  Melissa Lagerhausen will do the Invocation at the Monday Barbeque.
