Steve Higgins Honored For Contributions
SPRINGFIELD, IL, July 31, 2007—Steve Higgins was recognized for his contributions to education youth and protecting our natural resources at the Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts (AISWCD) 59th Annual Meeting and Illinois Land and Water Resources Conference held at the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel and Conference Center in Springfield, Illinois on July 31.
The purpose of this AISWCD award is to honor any individual, group or organization for outstanding contributions in the field of soil conservation and/or water quality. Steve Higgins’ commitment to providing top quality service to soil and water conservation districts and individuals in the form of promptness, politeness, and common courtesy is outstanding. This commitment along with the quality of service he provides to private landowners in the form of technical soils determinations and services makes him qualified to receive this award. Steve Higgins’ education, experience and enthusiasm for the field has resulted in thousands of acres of land being improved through sound soil management practices which contributes to the general well being of soil and water conservation districts and individuals.
Steve Higgins has a life long record of business and industry experience assisting with youth and education Programs such as Envirothon presentations, as well as community and professional services with Natural Resource Inventory reports and the LESA system. Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District stated, “Steve knows the importance of educating the students and adults about the importance of our natural resources and how we are trying to protect them, resulting in high quality service to the field office and to the citizens of Warren County and the State of Illinois.”
